Injectable Estrogen Shortage Poses Major Health Concerns

The United States is currently experiencing a severe shortage of injectable estrogen – a hormone treatment used by many transgender women and transfeminine people – that shows no signs of ending. National supplies of Delestrogen and its generic counterpart, Estradiol Valerate, dried up 18 months ago and have not since returned to market. Drug manufacturers estimate that the shortage will last at least until October, if not longer. The health fallout for transgender women in the absence of injectable estrogen could be devastating. From the State House to the shores of Provincetown, there’s nowhere that Carl Sciortino, Executive Director of the AIDS Action Committee, won’t go to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. On September 17, Carl will be strapping on his helmet and joining hundreds of dedicated riders and crew members for the 14th Annual Harbor to the Bay (H2B) bike ride. Fenway Health Launches New Diabetes Support Group

Looking for a confidential space to share your experiences and get support around living with diabetes? Fenway Health is excited to launch a new 10 week diabetes support group, co-facilitated by a therapist and a registered nurse. The purpose of this group is to provide space for participants to share their thoughts, ask questions, and strategize on how to stay on track with self-care and disease management. There will also be opportunities to hear from specialist providers who can speak to diabetes care topics such as eye care, foot care, nutrition, exercise, and alternative therapies including acupuncture and massage. Harbor to the Bay (H2B) – a yearly charity bike ride from Boston to Provincetown to raise money for HIV/AIDS organizations – has a dedicated base of veteran riders and volunteers that make up the H2B family. Like in any family, H2B is always changing and growing, with new additions making it stronger each year.
